Day 1: Arrive Cartagena Upon arrival transfer to selcted hotel. Rest of the day at leisure.
Day 2 : Cartagena/Rosario Islands
Breakfast, followed by a one-hour speedboat trip to San Pedro de MajaguaIsland, located at the heart of the “Rosario Coral Park”. Visit to the Oceanario and a typical isleño lunch (freshly fried fish and delectable ingredients). The afternoon on Majagua Island is entirely dedicated to leisure: swimming and sunbathing, canoeing and surfing or snorkeling and diving. The 16 Caribbean comfort cabañas are situated on two tiny white coral beaches amid a crystal-clear sea teaming with multi-coloured fish. These secluded premises cater especially to “meditative snorkelers and romantic skin divers” and are surrounded by mangrove forests and shadow-casting rubber trees. Dinner is served back at the hotel.
Day 3: Rosario Islands/Cartagena
After lunch it is time to say goodbye to Majagua. Return to Cartagena via speedboat at around 3:00 PM, then transfer to your selected hote. followed by a siesta. Scheduled for the evening is a leisurely outing to times past - in a carriage. The original half-hour journey from the hotel through the streets and alley-ways of Cartagena ends at the exclusive Mar de Juan restaurant, at the corner of Plaza de San Diego. Exquisite delicacies in a Caribbean ambiente accompanied by a Cuban sextette. Offered are three menu choices with three courses each.
Day 4: Cartagena
Cartagena Panorama Tour and a guided walk through narrow streets and plazoletas (English-speaking guide). We’ll also visit the Boca Grande promenade, the massive fortress of San Felipe, the hill of La Popa, the Inquisition Palace and Ciudad Amurallada with its walls and turrets. Return to the hotel.
Day 5: Depart Cartagena
Breakfast. At convenient time, transfer to the airport for your flight to your next destination.
