Great extension to Bolivia and basic introduction to the Altiplano and Lake Titicaca. To the ancients, Titicaca was sacred and they built temples along its shores and many islands. The inhabitants of its shores are mostly Aymara and Quechua Indians, descendant of both the ancient Aymara and younger Inca civilizations. Lake Titicaca is a must on the list of things to see for visitors to this part of the world. In the lake there are two islands: the Islas del Sol and Islas de la Luna, which are part of the Inca mythical creation. Legends tell us that Manco Kapac and Mama Ocllo rose with staff in hand to found the capital of the Inca Empire at Cuzco. The Inca themselves called Titicaca the "womb of the world".

Bus journey through the Peruvian Andes to Puno - Today one of South America's most extraordinary overland trips takes you by bus to Puno passing through striking highland scenery and picturesque Andean villages. Day 03:Puno/Copacabana/Sun island 

Breakfast at your hotel. Drive to Copacabana, and hydrofoil Sun Island. Overnight at Posada del Inca. (B,L,D) 

Day 04:Sun Island/La Paz 

Continue by hydrofoil on the Huatajata for a visit to the Andean Roots Eco-village before the final drive to La Paz and your hotel.(B,L)
