South America Explorer Tour

One of the most complete "Around South America" tours possible visiting Ecuador, Peru, Bolivia, Chile, Argentina and Brazil. Ecuador: visit Quito and the famous Andean market of Otavalo, then cruise the Galapagos Islands on the M/V Galapagos Legend.

In Peru: you will visit Lima and Cuzco plus the "Lost city of the Incas" Machu Picchu. In Bolivia take a hydrofoil cruise on the highest lake in the world and visit the Uros Islands.

Later in Bolivia, visit Copacabana shrine, Sun island and La Paz famous "witches' market".

In Chile: you will stay in cosmopolitan Santiago then travel to the Chilean Lakes and take the famous "lake crossing" route between Chile and Argentina. Argentina: you will tour incredible Buenos Aires, the "Paris of South America" and marvel at magnificent Iguaçu Falls. Rio de Janeiro: located in one of the most beautiful natural bays of the world.

Day 01: Wed - Arrive Santiago
Meet and assist at the airport and transfer to selected hotel.

Day 02: Thu - Santiago
Hotel Breakfast followed by a Half-day city tour of Santiago.  Afternoon at leisure. (B). 

Day 03: Fri - Santiago/Quito
Breakfast at the hotel. Transfer to the airport. Arrive Quito and transfer to hotel (B)

Day 04: Sat - Quito
Full day excursion to the famous Otavalo Indian market. Return to Quito. (B,L)

Day 05: Sun - Quito
Free day for optional activities. (B)

Day 06: Mon - Quito/Galapagos/Cruise
Morning transfer to the airport for your flight to Galapagos. (B)

Day 07: Tue - Galapagos Cruise
Cruise to El Barranco in Genovesa or Tower Island. In the afternoon continue to Darwin Bay (B,L,D)

Day 08: Wed - Galapagos Cruise
Cruise to Punta Suarez in Espanola or Hood Island. Afternoon to Interpretation Centre in San Cristobal Island.(B,L,D)

Day 09: Thu - Cruise/Baltra/Guayaquil/Lima
Breakfast. Flight via Guayaquil to Lima. Transfer to selected hotel.(B)

Day 10: Fri - Lima
Morning city tour of modern and colonial Lima.(B)

Day 11: Sat -  Lima/ Puerto Maldonado
This rainforest adventure takes you to a community run eco-lodge in the heart of Peru's Amazon jungle. (B,D)

Day 12: Sun - Puerto Maldonado
Different lodge activities and wildlife spotting. (B,L,D)

Day 13: Mon - Puerto Maldonado/Cuzco
Back to Puerto Maldonado and flight to Cusco. Balance of the afternoon at leisure to adjust to the altitude (11,600 feet). 

Day 14: Tue - Cuzco
Breakfast. Morning tour of Cuzco, including Inca ruins of Sacsayhuaman, Kenkko and Tambo Machay. Afternoon free.(B)

Day 15: Wed - Cuzco
Breakfast. Free day for optional activities. (B)

Day 16: Thu - Cuzco/Sacred Valley
Full day tour to Pisac Market and Ollantaytambo Fortress. Drop off at the Sacred Valley for overnight. (B,L)

Day 17: Fri - Sacred Valley/Machu Picchu/Aguas Calientes
Morning departure on one of the world's great train journeys to Machu Picchu. Enjoy a guided tour of the ruins, overnight in Aguas. (B,L)

Day 18: Sat - Aguas Calientes/Cuzco
Morning free, afternoon train back to Cuzco for overnight.(B)

Day 19: Sun - Cuzco/Puno
Breakfast . Today one of South America's most extraordinary overland trips takes you by bus to Puno passing through striking highland scenery and picturesque Andean villages. (B,L)

Day 20: Mon - Puno
Breakfast. Tour of the Uros Floating islands and Taquile Islands with lunch . (B,L)

Day 21: Tue - Puno/Sun Island
Morning transfer to Copacabana to visit the shrine then continuing by hydrofoil to the Island of the Sun, Overnight at the Posada del Inca. (B,L,D)

Day 22: Wed - Sun Island/La Paz
Morning visit of Sun Island.  Lunch at Uma Kollo, followed by afternoon hydrofoil cruise to Moon Island and Huatajata. Continue by bus/van to La Paz. (B,L)

Day 24:Fri - La Paz/Santiago/Puerto Montt/Puerto Varas

Today you will continue your Lake District Crossing into Argentina to Puerto Panuelo and a final transfer to your Hotel in Bariloche. (B)

Full day tour of Rio de Janeiro including its most important sights including Corcovado Mountain and Sugar Loaf Mountain for yet another panoramic view of the city. (B,L)

Day 37: Thu - Depart Rio de Janeiro
